Named "Most Admired" by Fortune Magazine… Again.

For the second year in a row, ARAMARK ranked No. 1 in its industry on Fortune magazine's list of "World's Most Admired Companies" (a list formerly known as "America's Most Admired Companies") for 2009.

ARAMARK topped the magazine's list in the Diversified Outsourcing category, which studies businesses that offer a range of value-added professional services. This is the fifth time in the past eight years it has ranked No. 1 in the category.

ARAMARK remained at the top by rating No. 1 in all nine key criteria by which companies are evaluated:

  • Financial soundness.
  • Quality of the management team.
  • Quality of the products or services offered to clients.
  • Innovation.
  • Ability to attract and retain talent.
  • Global competitiveness.
  • Use of corporate assets.
  • Value as a long-term investment.
  • Social responsibility to the community and the environment.

"We are pleased to be recognized once again as the leader in our industry, particularly among an increasingly competitive list of contenders," said Joseph Neubauer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ARAMARK. "I am grateful to all of our employees around the world, whose contributions each day continue to drive our reputation for excellence, innovation and integrity."

This commendation is one of many that ARAMARK has received in the past year, including being named among the "40 Best Companies for Diversity" by Black Enterprise magazine; the Global Outsourcing 100, which recognizes companies that provide the best service worldwide; and America's largest private companies by both Forbes and FORTUNE magazines.

FORTUNE's study of World's Most Admired Companies is conducted annually by The Hay Group, a global consulting firm. The study surveys top executives, directors and financial analysts to identify companies with the strongest reputations among the Fortune 1000, non-U.S. companies in the FORTUNE Global 500, and top foreign companies operating in the United States.
