Brandeis - Farmers Market

Brandeis - Farmers Market Brandeis - Farmers Market Brandeis - Farmers Market

In the Fall 2009, Dining Services at Brandeis donated their share of the Farmers Market to the Greening class. The donation fed community gardens in a housing project in Waltham, MA. - just down the street from Brandeis. Below is a letter of gratitude from our partners.

Dear Michael and Sherry,

Thanks so much for joining us for the students' Greening Class Showcase this week, and for the special presentation of the $200 donation check from Farmer's Market sales to support continued Greening class projects. Your support and collaboration with the class has been a key element throughout the years; you've helped the students feel part of the process of "greening" Dining Services, and impressed them with the considerable sustainability improvements you've made.

The student's website showing the campus garden and use of the Dining waste compost is in progress and will be up on the web in a few weeks, but I'm sending you some pictures showing the use of the our compost for the Greening class project the last 2 years to help residents plant community gardens the local public housing complex.

Best wishes,
Laura Goldin
